Weeks/months to live?

i have a friend who's dad has been told he has around 6 months to live if he carries on his blood transfusions. however, he is debating whether to give them up as they are causing him so much pain. if he does, he may only have weeks left. his still in the decision making process, and this is really hard of my friend. i want to know if anyone has any tips on how i can support her, because quite frankly, she's a mess. btw people, im not ing into her life, we rely on each other all the time, and i know she's expecting me to support her right now, but i just don't know how! it's such a difficult situation.
