i work on a dementia/Alzheimer's unit and i know how hard it can be for a family to confront the illness there is a lot of guilt and denial involved. however it is important that you speak to her about your concern because there are a lot of medications out there that can keep the disease from worsening at a rapid rate. without medication it can get bad fast. the illness is genetic so it wouldn't be far-fetched to think that it could be early signs. just be as sensitive as you can when bringing it up because it is a very difficult thing for someone to accept. you don't want to find her wandering the streets because she forgot where her home is or have her start a fire while trying to cook. those are stories i hear quite frequently from families when new residents come to the home. so protect her by at least getting her to see the doctor for some tests. i am sorry that you are dealing with this it can be very difficult.

Its a Big deal cause back when programs like MIRC(still used by some) were used one would chat in lower case and if they got mad or angry at another in the chat group you would use caps to show the anger. those of us that have been around recognize this still though. I love my boyfriend, he's really caring, lovely and frickin hilarious, plus i can't imagine someone more perfect for me. What is the cause for have low blood platelets?

My mother is very sick and the doctors are saying she has low blood platelets and a B12 Deficency. She's had 3 blood transfusions and hasn't gotten any better. She is having trouble speaking and is very confused. Does anyone know if this is fatal or can it be treated? What is causing it?

Emotionally healthy does not mean they are physically healthy.
