Do i do what my heart says or listen to my parents?

Well, I think I'm in "love". But there is a slight problem. First of all I have never been in a relationship and never had feelings in this way for anyone else. The problem is my parents would never approve of this person and i really love them also. He is older then i am, from a different nationality and religion. And at first glance not the kind of guy anyone would envision their daughter with. What would you do?
