Is my neighbor pouting?And am I a people pleaser?

I am moving soon and for years had a neighbor who would knock on my door for trivial things. I explained I never liked answering because of all the telemarketers and I was hoping he would get the hints. He never did. So, few months ago I answered the door and told him I was busy. He was asking why maintenance was at my apartment. I dealt with this stuff for years. This time I was short and really ertive. I waited about a month and went to his door. He did not answer which I found ironic since it was the only time I had ever knocked. I then caught up to him outside later and just explained I need my down time after 12 hours of work each day. He was nice but since then very distant. Today I went outside and he was in his car. I could tell he was waiting for me to get into my car and drive off. I only noticed him when I was leaving. It was 100 degrees outside. I can read body language very well and he was avoiding me. I am ok with this but my thinking is of all the times I gave him my time and this is how I am responded to when I request to have some alone time. I don't know, I feel I gave and he is type who if you dont beckon to his every call then you are basically given the shaft. I dont operate that way. In the future I am not giving my time unless the other person earns it. How do you view this? And am I a people pleaser?
